Munich is full of wonders. The old Pinacoteca contains admirable paintings by Dürer, Brueghel and Rubens, while the new Pinacoteca shows the famous painting of Caspar David Friedrich, creating one of the most fabulous museums on Earth. The historic centre is perfectly preserved and expands its charms thanks to the Residenz and the impressive Marienplatz. To the west of the city, Nymphenburg Castle represents a trip back to the Baroque age.
For this spring stay, we invite you to see two great masterpieces of opera. Carmen by Bizet needs no introduction and the world still loves it. In this incredible Munich production, Benjamin Bernheim is the most upsetting of Don José. Tannhäuser by Wagner finds in Romeo Castellucci’s staging an essential reading of our time. The brilliant Italian director has Jonas Kaufmann as singer in one of his best roles, while Nathalie Stutzmann’s conducting gives this performance a special prestige.
