A Privileged Immersion into the Eternal Egypt
Embark to discover Cairo, a city where 5000 years of Egyptian history still resonate, thru a trip designed as a privileged immersion into the heart of pharaonic civilisation. Between ancient treasures, iconic institutions, and places usually hidden from view, let yourself be guided thru a unique approach to ancient Egypt.
The tour takes you to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where you will explore its major collections, but also go behind the scenes on a private tour of its conservation centre, one of the largest in the world, where you will discover the techniques and expertise involved in preserving the treasures of the pharaohs. The tour continues to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, on Tahrir Square, in an exclusive setting after closing time, and on to the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology (IFAO), founded in 1880 and housed in the Mounira Palace, for a private tour of this major centre for Egyptological research for over a century.
Highlighted moments include the Solar Boat of Khufu, an exceptional relic of antiquity, as well as an exclusive tour of the Tutankhamun galleries, offered under exceptional circumstances outside normal opening hours, allowing you to admire his funerary treasures away from the usual crowds.
From an evening spent gazing at the Pyramids of Giza, to dinner in the enchanting atmosphere of Khan El Khalili and lunch in the gardens of the IFAO, this trip offers a unique experience, blending history, emotion and the art of living. An invitation to discover ancient Egypt in a different light, up close to its treasures and to those who continue to preserve them.
