Vienna reveals itself in all its splendor at the beginning of autumn. What a pleasure it is to stroll along the magnificent pedestrian avenue of the Graben! In the famous Prater, the giant Ferris wheel (built in 1897) carries us up to a height of 65 meters: the view from the cabin is extraordinary. The lively Naschmarkt is also a must-see. And if the weather does not cooperate, the city’s museums offer one of the richest cultural experiences in the world: the Museum of Fine Arts, the Belvedere, the Hofburg, the Secession Building, the Papyrus Museum, Schönbrunn Palace, the Sigmund and Leopold Museum, and many other wonders…
Our stay brings you face to face with two of the greatest singers of our time. The tenor Jonas Kaufmann takes on the title role in Verdi’s deeply moving Otello, superbly supported by Luca Salsi as Iago and Nicole Car as Desdemona. The following day, we journey back to the very origins of opera with Monteverdi’s dazzling Orfeo in a spectacular staging by Tom Morris. And who better than the tenor Rolando Villazón to portray the very first hero in the history of opera?
