    Internationally renowned Hungarian conductor and co-founder and music director of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Iván Fischer is renowned for his innovative approach and profound interpretations. As a regular guest of the world’s leading musical institutions, he brings incomparable passion and expertise to every performance.

    ARIADNE AUF NAXOS

    The Vicenza Opera Festival is breaking new ground this year with a new version of the combination of Molière’s play Le bourgeois gentilhomme and Richard Strauss’s opera Ariadne auf Naxos. The Commedia dell’arte actors present the ancient Greek story of Ariadne in the form of an opera.

     

    In the first half of the evening, Iván Fischer will conduct his orchestra in Richard Strauss’s Suite du bourgeois gentilhomme, choreographed by co-director Chiara D’Anna for the Commedia dell’arte characters.
