Verona is the romantic city by definition. Legend has it that Romeo and Juliet fell in love here in the Middle Ages. You can visit Juliet’s house and her tomb, but what visitors don’t know is that Romeo’s house is right next door! But Verona is also a city with timeless charm, thanks to the colour of its buildings, the sumptuousness of its palaces and its warm terraces that take on unreal colours as night falls. For a bird’s eye view of the city, climb the bell tower of the Palazzo della Ragione.
And then there’s the Roman Arena. What could be more romantic than listening to an operatic masterpiece in this fabulous testimony to Latin antiquity? In the exceptional setting of the amphitheatre, the Verona Arena Festival has been welcoming the world’s finest singers to spectacular opera productions since 1913. Our programme features three legendary love stories: Carmen, Aida and La Bohème. For those who also enjoy dance, there is the option of arriving a little early to enjoy the gala performance of Roberto Bolle, one of the choreographic stars of our time.
Optional pre-arrival on July 24th
