Musical journeys

We’ve put together a pharaonic Berlin vacation for you. A visit to the Neues Museum is a must, of course, to pay homage to the famous bust of Nefertiti housed there. The splendid Pergamonmuseum takes us back to the time of mythical Babylon, with its monumental Ishtar Gate. But Berlin is also a modern city unlike any other in the world, radiating out from the pleasant districts of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.
On the magnificent Avenue Unter den Linden, the Staatsoper invites the audience to an evening rich in excess. Direction: the Babylon set to music by Verdi in Nabucco. The Berlin institution has entrusted the opera’s production to the remarkable Italian director Emma Dante. But it’s the vocal cast that promises to be of biblical proportions, featuring the great Luca Salsi as Nabucco and the imperial Anna Netrebko as Abigaille.
