Day 2: Discover Funchal and the vineyards

In the morning, immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the Mercado dos Lavradores in Funchal, where stalls overflow with colourful tropical fruits, exotic flowers and traditional handicrafts. As you stroll through the narrow streets of the historic centre, you can admire the traditional architecture and soak up the authentic spirit of the city.

In the afternoon, discover Madeira’s wine-making tradition during an excursion to a charming local vineyard. Accompanied by a passionate guide, learn the secrets of how the island’s wines are made before enjoying a tasting of typical vintages, which will allow you to appreciate the richness and finesse of Madeira’s terroir.
