Enter the legend of Venice! There are countless myths associated with the Italian Serenissima: the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace… Each church, each bridge (nearly 540!) has an incomparable history. Strolling through the Dorsoduro or Canavaggio neighborhoods is the promise of discovering an unexpected wonder. Nothing is more delightful than wandering through this fascinating architectural labyrinth. To take the measure of this sublime city, you have to climb the Campanile Saint-Marc: the panorama is breathtaking.
Our stay invites you to discover two great events. Rarely performed, Mefistofele by Boito (Verdi’s librettist) is first and foremost an essential opera in the Italian repertoire. Inspired by Goethe’s novel, this magnificent work will be performed at La Fenice in a staging by the French artist duo Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier, with the great bass-baritone Alex Esposito in the role of the diabolical character.
But on this 20th of April, Venice is all the more wonderful as the city’s famous Biennale of Contemporary Art opens. For its sixtieth edition, the international event promises an exceptional vintage. Placed under the direction of the Brazilian Adriano Pedrosa, the Biennale (with its famous national pavilions) will have as its theme “Foreigners”.
