Prodigious, bewitching, sublime Venice! There’s no shortage of adjectives to describe the incomparable charm of this Italian city. You can succumb to the pleasures of bellini and rossini, aperitivo, ice creams and the delights of Venetian cuisine, and why not take a ride on a gondola to discover the city in an unusual light?
Giacomo Casanova is, of course, one of the city’s most famous historical figures. The famous writer grew up in a house in the San Marco district and loved meeting his conquests on the Rialto Bridge. What’s more, he is the one and only man to have managed to escape from the Prison of the Lead weights located in the attic of the Doge’s Palace!
Our visit is dedicated to an equally fascinating character. The Teatro della Fenice presents Mozart’s Don Giovanni, the sulfurous seducer in the operatic repertoire, in Damiano Michieletto’s remarkable staging. Under the direction of American conductor Robert Treviño, Alex Esposito‘s Leporello and Zuzana Markova‘s Donna Anna are not the least assets of a vocal cast crowned by the extraordinary performance of Austrian baritone Markus Werba as Don Giovanni.
