The singer performed three times at the Palais Garnier: at a legendary Gala of the Legion of Honour in 1958, in Norma in 1964 under the baton of Georges Prêtre and in the famous staging of Franco Zeffirelli’s Tosca. But Paris is also the city where Maria Callas used to stay, notably at the Ritz Hotel (where a luxurious suite now bears her name) and then in her own apartment located on the 3rd floor of 36 Avenue Georges-Mandel in the sixteenth arrondissement.
