Elegance reigns supreme in Milan. Stroll through the boutiques of the Golden Quadrilateral, or hunt for design objects in the Navigli district. One look at the (sumptuous!) glass roof of the Galleria Victor Emmanuel II and it’s time for an aperitivo in one of the city’s cafés. In Milan, the food is divinely good, and there are plenty of good places to eat in the capital of Lombardy.

In the evening, a performance at La Scala is the ultimate Milanese experience. For this trip, we are offering you a superb opera and concert. The second part of Wagner’s Tetralogy, Valkyrie is famous not only for its famous ride but also for its gripping episodes such as Brünnhilde’s death and the Incantation of Fire. Wagner’s masterpiece will be performed in a spectacular staging by David McVicar.

It has been ten years since Wagner’s Tetralogy was performed at La Scala in Milan. Following in the footsteps of such legendary musicians as Arturo Toscanini, Wilhem Furtwangler and Herbert von Karajan. This is a magnificent production by Scottish director David McVicar.

The second part of the Tetralogy, Valkyrie completely reshuffles the cards and the stakes of Rhine Gold. Among the great moments of the score are Michael Volle‘s majestic Wotan and Camilla Nylund‘s moving Brünnhilde in the deeply moving scene of Wotan’s farewell to his daughter. But perhaps the hero of the evening will be Klaus Florian Vogt‘s Siegmund, an admirable German singer whose heroic voice continues the Wagnerian legend.
